Daily Faith
By Pastor Tony McQueer
A while ago, as I prepared for a sermon on faith, I found myself reflecting on my personal faith.
I like to believe I live a life of faith. A faith that God has given me. A faith that began many years ago, the day He revealed to me my need to turn from living life my way and put my trust in Jesus as my Savior.
Since that day, I have studied the Word of God and have prayerfully grown in my relationship with God. His Word, His promises, His presence in my life have grown my faith much deeper over the years.
But it doesn’t end there. Daily, and even this moment as I write, I pray, “God strengthen my faith.” I am reminded what Romans 1:17 says, “For in it the righteousness of God is revealed from faith to faith; as it is written, the just shall live by faith” (NKJV).
I seek today, knowing by faith, the God of the universe, who dwells within me, will never leave me or forsake me. God’s righteousness has been revealed to me through His Son and He will continue to reveal Himself to me as I walk with Him. He will reveal to me, day by day, (faith to faith) as I open my heart and walk through the tough times in life.
God’s answers for our problems don’t normally come from a direct revelation from God, although they could. God’s answers will usually be found deep, deep, deep down in our hearts; where God has whispered through His Word and His Spirit “I am here” and “I am God.”
His Word and His Spirit are alive in me! By the faith He places within me, I must follow.
My prayer today for you and for me:
Father, God, I know that life will put before me things that will challenge me, try to hurt me, try to steal my joy, try to make me feel defeated, but you God, by your grace have imparted to me a measure of faith. Forgive me when I fade and begin to feel so overwhelmed; when I feel like my faith is fading. I do believe you are in my every step. I believe Your righteousness is revealed from faith to faith. May that revelation infiltrate my heart today, for your glory. Amen
